The annual Penguin Book Cover Competition, Children’s Cover saw the book Wonder come into the spotlight for this years competition.
Quote from the blurb of the book:

Auggie wants to be an ordinary ten-year-old. He does ordinary things – eating ice cream, playing on his Xbox. He feels ordinary – inside. But ordinary kids don’t make other ordinary kids run away screaming in playgrounds. Ordinary kids aren’t stared at wherever they go’
I wanted to stay away from the designs that had already been done like the space helmet and also the disfigured face on the current cover (2018) so I started to look at different themes I could play with and I finally decided on the theme of a star constellation to be the main focus.
